From huge steps forward with external partners offering work experience internally at The Oaks, to amazing enterprise projects. The newsletters will also include information on careers workshops to improve employability skills, local job vacancies and Labour Market Information.
The Oaks remains committed to offering an exciting and broad learning programme that continues to develop independence and employability skills as they prepare for adulthood.
November 2021 – We have had a fantastic start to the new academic year at The Oaks. Learners are continuing to develop their employability skills through a range of workshops and work placements, both internally and external, enabling them to gain key skills and experience.
July 2021 – This final newsletter of the academic year 20/21 rounds up an inspiring year of career development opportunities with the exciting addition of our onsite supermarket and Spill the Beans cafe.
April 2021 After a rather chilly Easter break it has been fantastic to welcome back all learners to College. With restrictions easing, learners are able to recommence their external work placements enabling them to gain key employability skills and experience.
Our full and varied internal work placement programme has begun with a range of opportunities on offer from Landscape Gardening, Hospitality and Catering to Art and Enterprise.
