In June 2023, four learners and two staff members embarked on a trip to Wiesbaden, Germany. The primary purpose of the visit was to exchange best-practice ideas with colleagues at two centres: two days at the Facettenwerk organization and a half-day at Domäne Mechtildshausen. The learners actively engaged in centre activities and enjoyed sightseeing, visibly growing in self-confidence and group cohesion over the five days.
Additionally, the experience highlighted the resilience and adaptability of our four learners. Despite being out of their comfort zone, they navigated change and challenges with increased confidence, resilience, and communication skills. For some, it was their first time on a plane and visiting a foreign country, exposing them to diverse cultures and broadening their global perspective.
